Proper planning is key to any implementation and this event will give guidance for planning a successful deployment in different scenarios.
Microsoft Exchange 2007
Exchange 2007, the next major version of Exchange, is a leap forward in enhancing the end user’s access to their information while giving the email administrator a more manageable and secure email infrastructure. Exchange Server 2007 helps to manage a reliable messaging system with built-in protection against spam and viruses, while providing people throughout the organization with anywhere access to e-mail, calendars, contacts and even file shares from a wide variety of devices.
The next version of the Microsoft Windows operating system introduces with it a new unattended installation framework. This framework provides for efficient enterprise deployment of Windows operating systems using new Microsoft Image-Based Setup (IBS) technologies, to include Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows PE 2.0, and ImageX. This deployment framework reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the complexity of Windows Vista deployments.
With Windows XP and earlier operating systems, IT departments had to choose between application compatibility and the convenience of having users log on as an administrator and the security and stability provided by having users log on as a standard user. User Account Protection in Windows Vista gives administrators the option of restricting permissions while still enabling most applications to run. User Access Controls prevents potentially harmful applications from deploying to desktops without the user’s knowledge.
