New Horizons and TechBirmingham present TechFriday at the Apple Store

TechFriday @ Apple StoreBIRMINGHAM, AL, 6 November 2007 – New Horizons Birmingham and TechBirmingham have scheduled the monthly TechFriday meeting to be held at the new Apple Store at the Summit shopping center, on Friday November 9, 7:45-9:00 AM.

On the program, will be a presentation on the new Macintosh operating system, OS X 10.5, “Leopard”. The poplular iPhone will also be demonstrated. The Apple Store will be drawing for two One on One support cards good for one year of personal training sessions each. Free breakfast is provided.

TechFriday is a TechBirmingham event that brings area IT companies together to network and share information on the burgeoning technology industry here. The breakfast meetings are normally held monthly at New Horizons Computer Learning Center on Beacon Parkway. This special meeting at the Apple Store was arranged in response to growing interest in the Macintosh OS X platform.

Technology companies and interested parties are encouraged to register to attend this limited seating event, and may do so by emailing information@newhorizons-bhm.com.

BIRMINGHAM, AL – New Horizons Birmingham and TechBirmingham have scheduled the monthly TechFriday meeting to be held at the new Apple Store at the Summit shopping center, on Friday August 10, 7:45-9:00 AM.

On the program will be a presentation on integrating Macintosh computers into Windows networks, running Windows on Mac, and other cross platform implementations. The popular iPhone will also be demonstrated.

The breakfast meetings are normally held monthly at New Horizons Computer Learning Center on Beacon Parkway. TechBirmingham ordinarily hosts our TechFriday meetings at New Horizons on the 2nd Friday of each month from 7:45am to 9:00am. But, next month (August) we’ll be doing things a bit differently. With the opening of the new Apple Store in Birmingham, we’re going to hold the August 10th event there. The good folks at the Apple Store will do an iPhone and a cross platform presentation, then offer breakouts. More details soon here on the TechBirmingham Blog.

In the meantime, please join us THIS Friday, yes the 13th <oooooh>, for our regularly scheduled TechFriday breakfast meeting. Hosted by New Horizons Birmingham, this event includes free breakfast and serves as an “open table” for discussing the technology ecosystem here in Birmingham. Arrive and mingle at 7:45am – directed discussions usually begin around 8:15am.

Apple Store Opening… in Birmingham this Saturday

Hurrah… the worst kept secret in Birmingham is out in the open, officially.  The new Apple Store at The Summit is opening this Saturday morning.  The new Birmingham-area news site, The Terminal, and local web-phenom Jeremy Flint each broke the story earlier this afternoon.  The store’s Grand Opening is Saturday at 10am.  Members of the media (credentials required) get in early at 9am.
